Pavel Semerád
I connect accounting and taxation with the economic challenges of the future.
Pavel Semerád is an academic and expert in accounting and taxation whose work spans traditional economic issues as well as emerging topics at the intersection of economics, technology and society. He teaches Management Accounting and Controlling and serves as an examiner for state final examinations. He is also Vice-Chancellor for Educational Affairs and Head of the Bachelor’s Programme at Sting.
His research explores topics ranging from tax fraud and the taxation of robot labour to taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages and the economics of space mining. He regularly presents his research at academic conferences and has published dozens of scholarly articles and papers.
Pavel is also passionate about supporting students and sharing practical insights into university life. Since 2017, he has been writing and podcasting about higher education through his blog and podcast O studiu na vysoké škole. He is a strong media expert on the future of taxation and the economy, how technology is reshaping the labour market, the taxation of robots and AI, the economics of the space industry, and the future of higher education.
