AACSB Information Session

NEWTON University will host a Formal Information Session organized by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), one of the most prestigious and widely recognized accreditation institutions in the field of business and management education worldwide. The event is designed as a structured, official information seminar and is intended for higher education institutions and their representatives who are interested in AACSB accreditation or wish to update their knowledge of current requirements and the accreditation process. The primary target audience includes university and faculty leadership, accreditation coordinators, administrative and strategic teams, academic leaders, and program directors.

The seminar will be led by representatives of AACSB and the host institution, including Dr. Anna Plechatá Krausová, Dr. Audrey Milton, Regional Head of Europe, Brian Riddleberger, EMEA Member Engagement Manager, and Jesus Valverdecarnerero, Member Engagement Manager. Additional speakers will be confirmed at a later stage. During the session, participants will be introduced to key information about AACSB’s mission, its quality standards, and the ways in which accreditation contributes to enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and strategic management at institutions. Founded in 1916 in the United States, AACSB is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, and operates as an international non-profit organization with a global reach. Today, it connects and accredits more than 900 schools in over 100 countries, and its accreditation is widely regarded as an international hallmark of quality in business education.

The content of the Formal Information Session focuses on a practical overview of the AACSB accreditation process – from the initial eligibility phase through to the Continuous Improvement Review – as well as on presenting key quality standards in the areas of strategic management, teaching and learning, and academic and professional engagement. Participants will receive concrete recommendations on how to prepare for accreditation, information about the timeline, administrative and financial requirements, and will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussion, and take part in individual consultations with AACSB representatives.

The programme also includes a session dedicated to the internationalisation of education in the Czech Republic, in which NEWTON University will present its experience and approach to the international development of the institution. The seminar thus combines official information directly from the accreditation authority with a practical perspective from the host university.

The aim of the meeting is to provide institutions with clear guidance on the AACSB accreditation process, help them assess their readiness, and offer recommendations on how to effectively set up internal processes and strategy. Key benefits include reducing the risk of errors during the preparation phase, gaining practical and strategic insights, the opportunity to consult specific questions, and networking with representatives of other institutions.
