Frequently Asked Questions

How often does part-time study take place?

Part-time study takes place in the form of six to eight weekend sessions per semester, approximately every two to three weeks, always on Saturday and Sunday for the entire day.

Do I have student status in part-time study?

Student status also applies to part-time students, but they are not entitled to the same benefits as full-time students. For example, tax deductions for students cannot be claimed, and ISIC cards with associated benefits are not available.

Can I transfer from full-time to part-time study?

Yes, transfers between study modes are possible after each completed semester.

Is attendance monitored in part-time study?

Attendance is not mandatory, but lecturers may set it as one of the criteria for final assessment.

Can I attend lectures intended for full-time students?

With the lecturers’ agreement, part-time students may attend lectures and seminars for full-time students. Capacity of the classrooms may be a limiting factor.

Are online materials available for part-time study?

Yes, most teaching materials, including presentations and course scripts, are available in the university’s information system.

Can tuition fees be invoiced to my employer and considered a tax-deductible expense?

Yes, tuition can be invoiced directly to your employer. Upon providing billing details, the amount can be claimed as a tax-deductible expense.

I cannot attend the exam dates for part-time study. What should I do?

Exams are scheduled on multiple dates. If none of the dates are convenient, you can arrange with your lecturers to attend an exam for full-time students.

Am I eligible for a scholarship in part-time study?

Scholarships are only available to full-time students.
