We all sometimes feel that our school could be even better. Better study spaces, more engaging events, more opportunities to connect with professionals. The Student Council is where ideas turn into reality. And now you can be part of it. It doesn’t matter whether you study at NEWTON or Sting, in Czech or in English – everyone can apply.

The first weeks at university can be quite a ride. One day you are looking for a classroom, the next you are trying to sort out enrolment, and in the evening you realise you have no idea where to get the lecture notes. Add to that a new city, lots of people and the feeling that everyone else knows more than you.

Starting university is always a bit of a leap into the unknown. It’s not just about making it to enrolment or checking your timetable. It’s about unfamiliar faces, a new pace, and big expectations. Those first days are mainly about whether you meet the people who will make the whole experience worthwhile. That’s why we invited our incoming first-year students to informal meet-ups before the official start of the academic year.

Imagine spending five days with people from ten different countries. They speak different languages, study different fields, and dream of different futures. Then you sit down with them at one table and start building a business that must hold up in front of an audience by the end of the week. No previous knowledge, no comfort zone. Just five days, a lot of energy, and a sharp deadline.

We have moved the Brno campus of NEWTON University and Vysoká škola STING. From the new academic year 2025/2026 you will find us in the Machova Building in the Technology Park. At first glance, it may seem like just a change of address, but in reality it reflects the direction we are heading as a business school.

Imagine a night-time transfer from a field stabilisation point. In the back of the vehicle lies a young man. His breathing is shallow and the colour is draining from his face. Time is measured in minutes. Think it sounds like a film scene? This is the reality of the war in Ukraine.

NEWTON International Week 2025 highlighted the university’s international presence and global vision. With expert-led workshops, a collaborative forum, and dynamic educational initiatives, the week offered unique opportunities for students and staff to engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering international partnerships and enhancing the university’s role in shaping future leaders.
