The Story of Osmany Laffita and Guy Pascal Gheysens

As part of the course Inspirational Personalities, Professional Challenges, fashion designer Osmany Laffita will present his inspiring life story, from his childhood in Cuba, through his bold move to Czechoslovakia, to building a successful brand that now extends into fashion, interior design, and media. He will be joined by his longtime partner Guy Pascal Gheysens, a Belgian entrepreneur and manager working in the Czech Republic.

Together, they will open topics such as creativity, entrepreneurship, partnership collaboration, and the courage to follow one’s own path.
Osmany is one of the most distinctive figures on the Czech fashion scene, known for his expressive, meticulously crafted designs, unique style, and vibrant energy. In addition to fashion, he also focuses on interior design and frequently appears in the media, where he shares his views on aesthetics and creative work. Guy Pascal Gheysens has been active in the Czech business environment for many years and contributes to the development and direction of Osmany’s projects.

This lecture will offer inspiration to anyone who wants to create, build, or find the courage to pursue their own vision.

The aim of the meeting is to introduce students to the story of Osmany and Guy and their path to success; to show the connection between fashion, design, and business; to inspire students toward their own creativity, courage, and authenticity; to provide real insight into how the fashion and creative industries function; and to support discussion about work, partnership, and personal branding.

Students have the opportunity to gain inspiration from two prominent figures of the Czech fashion scene, practical knowledge about fashion, design, aesthetics, and brand building, as well as a deeper understanding of how success in creative fields is formed. They will also receive an open, human perspective on work, life, and personal identity.

In addition, there will be space for questions and direct interaction with industry professionals.

This is part of the standard teaching scheduled for students. However, since the session features an exceptional guest, it is open this time to other students who are not enrolled in the course.
