FAQ

Practical answers to everything you’ll face at the end of your studies, when writing your thesis, and during final exams.

How to choose your thesis topic?

Pick something that genuinely interests you. Writing about something you don’t care about won’t get you far. A great topic combines your curiosity, available sources, and practical impact. Aim for something specific, relevant, and ideally connected to your field. You can also choose the topic through the information system.

Not sure? Talk to your supervisor. They’ll help steer you in the right direction.

How to start writing your thesis?

Break your thesis down into parts. Start by defining your goals – be clear about what you want to explore or prove.

Then draft an outline. Structure your work into thematic sections and logically connected chapters.

Stick to the structure, write clearly and cite your sources carefully. The citation guidelines are available in the final thesis instructions in the Information System. Once your text is finished, revise it several times – both content and form.

TIP: Try one of our focused writing support sessions – like Writing Bootcamp or Writing Retreat – to get expert help and stay on track.

Don’t skip consultations with your supervisor. Their feedback is crucial.

How to prepare for your thesis defence?

Defending your thesis isn’t something to fear. It’s your moment to show what you’ve achieved.

  • Create a clear and concise presentation.
  • Explain why you chose the topic and what you found most interesting.
  • Stay calm, speak clearly, and be ready for questions from the committee.

How to prepare for final state exams?

Start early. Divide material into smaller sections and revise consistently.

  • Plan your time and stick to a revision schedule.
  • Use trusted sources – books, seminar notes, and study materials.
  • Practise answering aloud to build confidence.
  • Discuss any uncertainties with your lecturers or peers.
