Emerging Markets and Endless Opportunities
To mark the end of the semester, the International Office has prepared an International Afternoon at Newton University Prague on Wednesday May 10th
NEWTON University is stepping into a new era of expanding its international scope. By establishing a new partnership with University of Diego Portales in Chile and exploring new geographical regions, we create new opportunities for our students and the NEWTON family as a whole.
The speaker Cristian Gallardo, originally from Chile, Business Development Manager at Rossum and founder of the group goLocal, has lived in Prague for 12 years already. His experience includes positions in companies such as Socialbakers, Avast, Finshape, Querko and Singularity University. Professionally, he focuses on helping companies expand and grow and develop local markets.

Mr. Gallardo gave an insightful description of the steps that must be taken to enter the Latin American market. By sharing his expertise he shed light on the local mentality and helped to understand the basics of the target culture.
Surprising disparities between Latin American countries were stressed and listeners were given a set of professional advice.
Mr. Gallardo did not only point out the key points of the strategy for entering new markets, such as the focus on dominant companies,
but also supported his examples with personal stories.
The speech was also aimed at our students who are not yet thinking about professional, but scholar activity. The diversity of the region presented and the range of opportunities it offers will certainly result in applications for the Erasmus programme at its next intake.
