Are you planning a trip to Paris and want to confidently order your favorite croissant at a local café? Or have you simply always been drawn to French? Start your journey with French course (Brno) - A1.

Over 12 lessons, you will learn the basics of French, from pronunciation and basic grammar to vocabulary and phrases for everyday situations. You will learn how to introduce yourself, ask for simple information, order food or a drink, and have a short conversation.

You can look forward to dialogues, listening exercises, pronunciation practice, pair and group work, and situations you may encounter in real life.

The course is designed for complete beginners as well as those who already have basic knowledge of French.

The course focuses on practical French that you can use in everyday situations. You will practise pronunciation, listening, simple conversation and writing, while gradually getting familiar with basic grammar structures and vocabulary.

What can you look forward to?

  • practical dialogues and situational exercises,
  • practising French pronunciation, rhythm and intonation,
  • essential grammar in practical contexts, including the verbs être and avoir, articles, adjectives and ways of expressing quantities,
  • vocabulary related to food, drinks, cafés, days of the week, telling the time and telephone conversations,
  • the basics of reading and writing in French,
  • pair and group work,
  • basic cultural insights related to everyday life in French-speaking environments

The course is led by Linda Honsová, a French language teacher at Alliance Française in Brno. She studies French Language and Literature at Masaryk University and has experience teaching both group and individual French courses.
