Preliminary Conference Topics and Publication Pathways

The conference will feature two thematic publication pathways:

  1. a proposed Springer-oriented proceedings track focusing on technological, data-driven, systems-based and methodological contributions; and
  2. a journal-oriented track covering broader managerial, societal, policy, behavioural and educational dimensions of smart transformation.

The topics and publication arrangements presented below are preliminary and remain subject to final confirmation by EAI, Springer and the participating journals.

Proposed Topics for the Springer-Oriented Proceedings Track

The conference focuses on smart transformation technologies and systems for cities, quality of life, business ecosystems and education. Its central theme is how AI, IoT, data-driven methods, digital platforms, intelligent services and human-centred design can support sustainable, resilient and inclusive smart ecosystems.

Business and management submissions may be considered for this track where they make a clear technological, data-driven, systems-based or methodological contribution related to digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, innovation platforms, smart services or Industry 4.0/5.0 applications. Purely descriptive business or management papers without such a contribution will not be considered for the proposed Springer-oriented proceedings track.

The following topics form a separate journal-oriented thematic track. They are part of the conference programme but fall outside the proposed scope of the Springer-oriented proceedings track.

Papers addressing these topics may be considered for submission to relevant journals, subject to the scope and requirements of the respective journal and to a separate editorial selection and peer-review process.

Publication Opportunities

We are currently awaiting official confirmation of the arrangements for publishing the conference proceedings with Springer.

Subject to final confirmation and the applicable review and editorial requirements, eligible papers submitted to the Springer-oriented proceedings track may be considered for inclusion in the conference proceedings published by Springer.

Papers falling within the journal-oriented thematic areas may be considered for publication in EAI Endorsed Transactions on Smart Business and Innovation or other relevant journals.
